compiler error/warning bubbles missing
compiler error/warning bubbles missing

I am working on a project in Xcode 3.1.1 that was recently created under
Xcode 2.5 (I think that was the version number, the newest Xcode for OSX
10.4). It builds and runs OK. However the colored "bubbles" do not
appear for compiler errors or warnings. Everything else is fine, the
Build Results window lists the errors and clicking on those in the top
section highlights the correct line in the source file shown in the
bottom section. The little red horizontal link in the scroll bar is
also missing, along with the "stop sign with an x" on the left margin.
I've tried using [View / Message bubbles / Show] but no change. I found
a forum thread (http://forums.macrumors.com/showthread.php?t=413930)
that suggests the big hammer of deleting preferences file, but that did
not fix it. Can anyone explain how to get these visual cues to reappear?
Thanks for any suggestions,
Craig Reynolds
