Hmm, makes me wonder how it behaves when it is ON.

I'm used to just hitting tab only to increase indent, and backspace only to
decrease it, with neither necessary if the indent is the same.

And what is this thing about Return being suppressed?  Is that some kind of
feature that is useful in some context?
