Follow the suggestion given in the warning itself, and add another
set of parenthesis:
if ((foo = 1)) { ... }
Um, that's just what I *don't* want to do, unless it's the only
way. It's a small thing but that is just so unnecessary - and ugly
IMHO.
Agreed, it's not pretty, but it seems to me the lesser of the
available evils. Warnings are ugly too, and disabling them leaves the
possibility of a '=' vs. '==' typo elsewhere.
