I'm guessing that the "strange offset" you mention in your movie is
due to inconsistent line endings in your source file. If you quit
Xcode, open the file up in another editor such as BBEdit, force all
the line endings to be consistent, save it, then open the file in
Xcode again, I'll bet that the problem goes away.

the omissions, I directed it to replace the remaining 10. This time
it replaced 8. Since the last two would not replace after repeated
attempts, I made a movie to document the problem...

Closing and re-opening the Project Find window did not help.
The file "Browfile.h" was also open in its own, separate window.
Closing that window did not help.
I had about a dozen other windows also open. (I use "Condensed"
layout.) Closing those dozen other windows solved the problem. It
is likely that the Browfile.m window had Browfile.h in its history,
because I also use the "Switch to Header/Source File" hotkey
frequently.
In general, I have found that this occurs when I have many windows
open. (A dozen is typical for me.)
Looks like a bug I should report? Already reported? Does anyone
know how to avoid this? It's Xcode 3.1.1.
Thanks,
