Please join the rest of us in filing bugs. As several people have noticed, as of OS X 10.5.5 and Xcode 3.1.1, the 64-bit runtime works quite well, but the developer tools either don't work at all (MallocDebug) or don't work correctly (the debugger and Shark) when targeting the 64-bit architectures. I'm sure more people will run into these problems as most programs gradually migrate to X86-64.
