Debugging a library in XCode

  • Subject: Debugging a library in XCode

Hello,
I have an open source library (Neon) that I'm including in my XCode
project. I built the library using the standard 'configure, make, make
install' process, and the library was added to /usr/local/lib. The
source code was compiled with the -g flag to output debugging
information.

The problem is that the code is breaking somewhere inside the library.
I'd like to step into the library function call in GDB, but when I try
to step in the debugger just steps over the function.

Does anyone know how I can trace into the function with GDB? Or how I
can build the library with XCode, so that I can add it as a sub-project
and debug the entire program in XCode?

Thanks in advance,

Iain Delaney
