I've just encountered the exactly same problem, and I'm sure I've done
everything properly(selected the variable I wanted to rename, all my
files and project are specified as pure obj-c), but the "Refactor..."
menu item just stays dimmed. I suspect this is a bug.


Then file a bug, please.

Please include your entire project, or a cut-down version of it that still reproduces the problem.
