It might be worth checking the Finder's Get Info window for the Xcode
application.
Xcode is typically stored in the "/Developer/Applications/" folder. In
Finder bring up the context menu (Ctrl+Mouse Click) for the Xcode icon
and choose "Get Info". In the Get Info window make sure the Languages
section is revealed. Make sure English is selected, if not, select it
and re-start Xcode.
Just in case; I'd also recommend checking your System Preferences,
International pane - before you switch off your Mac!
Is there a shortcut I've used?
No idea! But hopefully this helps.
