It was very interesting to learn from David Hoerl that the emacs pattern ^-space ... ^x^x works in Xcode. It is my experience with emacs and its descendants that lead me to expect that there *must* be a "jump back to where I was" in Xcode, if only I could figure out what it is called. However my quick experiment indicates that this emacs-ish setting mark and jumping to mark is implemented per-window (or per-something) that means it only works within a given file. The "back arrow" trick only works across files. I would despair about this inconsistency and poor usability, if not for Chris Espinosa's comment that seemed to indicate that a fix is on the way (or perhaps already here if you have the right NDA).
While perhaps not directly an Xcode issue, could someone briefly explain "Open Radar" versus "Apple Bug Reporter"? The later is "official" but rather like a black hole. Are reports to Open Radar monitored by Apple? Is it essentially necessary to file duplicate reports in both places? In the beginning of this thread Hamish Allan seemed to imply that if you were not reporting to Open Radar you were part of the problem. That seems a little harsh to me. All my previous reports have been to Apple Bug Reporter.
Finally, let me point out that it is a pleasure to learn that I use the same IDE as noted animator Bob Sabiston. (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bob_Sabiston http://www.flatblackfilms.com/)
