Remember the old CodeWarrior Re-search for files function?
You could reorganize your project on disk as you pleased and let CW
work out where to find the project files.
Doing this in Xcode gives us the red files in project explorer and a
hard time telling Xcode manually where to look for them, file by
file or folder by folder..
Is there any straight forward way of letting Xcode look for project
files that have moved within project folders all by itself?
It really doesn't have to search on all volumes known to the current
system - just in all subfolders of the project's include path!
What to do if I want/have to reorganize the folder hierarchy storing
my project files on the hard drive?
I don't suppose everybody else is dumping all of their project files
in a single, huge, silly, flat folder on their hard drive..?!
I don't know of an easy way to do that sort of thing, but I made such
work a little easier by adding the Path column to my list view (or
whatever that's called in the upper right area of the project
window). Then if I've moved or renamed a folder-full of files, I can
sort on the Path column, select all files sharing the same path, Get
Info on them all at once, and change the path from there, just one
time for each path (instead of once for each and every file, one at a
time). Not perfect, but it works for me. :-)
