Another thing that bothered me about it was that when you press Command
+F, if you had the replace section showing, it would hide that.
Anyway, I remapped Command+F to find and replace and it does what I
want it to now - nice that they built in that flexibility.
Overall I prefer the old find panel. The new one takes space across
the whole width of my windows, I can end up with several in a window,
if I have split the source view, and I have to use the mouse to click
on the Done button (although there is a menu command that I could put
a hotkey on, I suppose). It seemed easier to just press Command+W to
close the panel.

Thanks Fritz!
I've been looking for the "replace selected" option too.
Think Apple should improve the UI in this sense.

Is it me or the find/replace *in selected text* has disappeared in

The feature is hidden. Set the search bar to Find & Replace, then
hold down
the option key. The Replace All button becomes "In Selection." I
don't think
there's an equivalent for find without replace.
I filed a radar on this one, and suggest you do the same. They can
claim a
precedent in TextMate doing the same thing, but I'm not sure
TextMate is a
gold-standard source for human-interface design. They also have the
problem
that they've run out of room in the bar, but it _is_ their problem,
and one
they ought to solve.
