Thanks Sean,
Actually, that is my pattern, work some sample code over or code a
tutorial then start a fresh new project.
However, after breadboarding with SoftVDigX, I can not find an Xcode
template that looks to me like one for a QT component. My attempts to
modify the ones that look closest have resulted in Xcode reporting "An
error occurred" and offering to erase what I thought was logical input
for the context. (more details later if needed).
My attempts to copy and rename the SoftVDigX project have not fared
well - should I be able to simply change the names of items to rename
a project?
My progress with SoftVDigX has been very fast, and, yes, fun actually;
I seem to have a kext-less system up and running "on the bench". Did
not have to really concern myself with the Component Manager per se;
not sure if that is due to me missing something (that always bites me)
or the perceived clarity of the example or perhaps changes from the
status you fondly(?) remember.
Any pitfalls or advice using the Component Manager itself (beyond this
Xcode template) would be helpful, please; but, as a "OT" courtesy,
please reply off list.
Thanks
Gary

50/50 chance of this being the wrong list... :-)
What new project template should I use for a quicktime VDIG
component?
I'd suggest downloading an Apple sample and starting from there. (Do
those things still use the Component Manager? Oh dear. Have fun.)
