Converting Xcode paths to usable paths

How can one convert, in AppleScript, a bi-directional (for lack of a better term that I'm aware of) Xcode path to a real Posix path? I need to turn "/depot/cmyk/creatortech/desktop/mac/C2Mac/../../../../xcodebuilds/Creator.build/Debug/Preprocessed-Info.plist" into "/depot/cmyk/xcodebuilds/Creator.build/Debug/Preprocessed-Info.plist".
I've submitted bugs in the past about Xcode using these weird paths in places it shouldn't, but not this exact issue, which I'll do now.
