I just used Xcode to create a standard view based iPhone project and the preprocessor macros setting is right there where you'd expect - in the gcc preprocessing section of the build settings for the target.

I am using a later version of Xcode than you, but I'd be surprised if that setting was missing from your version.   _______________________________________________
