The new item has a button beneath it, labeled "Subscribe". When I
click it, I get the error message:
"Failed to subscribe to documentation feed at http://developer.apple.com/rss/com.apple.adc.documentation.AppleiPhone2_2.1.atom.
"
Since anyone using the latest iPhone SDK will see this, here is a
summary of the problem and how we are addressing it:
It appears in an attempt to ensure no out-of-date references to
"iPhone 2.2" remained, cases of this phrase were auto-replaced with
2.2.1 in metadata files. However, when it comes to documentation we
don't version the docs for dot releases, so we would normally just
stick with the 2.2 doc set feed and in this case the 2.2.1 reference
resulted in pointing to a non-existent RSS feed.
The 2.2 doc set ships with the SDK and is the correct doc set, so no
one is missing out.
To deal with the error state we're doing two things:
- We will put a 2.2.1 RSS feed in place, so the basic error goes away.
However, this will still result in a feed showing no doc sets.
- We will see about putting together a small release note document so
something shows up in this feed.
The 2.2 docs will continue to be the correct docs for the SDK.
In the future we'll have the ability to keep Xcode from displaying a
bogus feed like this.

We are looking into a configuration issue with the SDK -- the good
news is that you are not missing anything. There is no 2.2.1-
specific doc set at this time, so you aren't missing anything. We'll
see if we can remove the appearance of a problem.

Hello,
This is something which worries me just a bit, but anyway it is
confusing:
I downloaded and installed the new iPhone SKD version 2.1.1 and as
an effect in Xcode, a new root item in the DocSet pane under the
"DOC SETS" container has been added automatically.
The new item has a button beneath it, labeled "Subscribe". When I
click it, I get the error message:
"Failed to subscribe to documentation feed at http://developer.apple.com/rss/com.apple.adc.documentation.AppleiPhone2_2.1.atom.

I tried the address in a browser, and asserted that the feed
actually does not exist (yet). It seems somewhat reasonable that a
new update of a SDK does not immediately require a further update.
However, subscribing for updates should work.
Can somebody shed some light on this, please?
Regards,
Andreas
