But just to explain one of my problems: I can not call simple C++ class
methods after hitting an abort.  Even when the method is an accessor it
hangs in there forever doing nothing.  That makes a program almost
undebuggable.

Can I do something about that?  I tried various debugging information
formats but the behavior does not change.
