[Q] How to save a private key and transfer it to another system

Not sure if there is a better mailing list for this question...if there is, let me know.

I am attempting to save my private key, related to iPhone development but appears to be a more general problem, from Keychain Access and transfer it to my laptop.

I select the key and select the Export menu option. I get a file called:

 Eric Gorr.p12

on my desktop. I copy the file over to my laptop and drag it into the login keychain on my laptop. It asks for the password, which I enter. I then get the following error message:

An error has occurred. Unable to import an item.
The contents of this item cannot be retreived.

Any idea on what might be going wrong?
