Text Editor in 3.1.3 is very slow

SInce I upgraded to 3.1.3, editing large code ( 552 Kb) files is painfull. The editor reacts very slowly and is nearly unusable on big files. Am I the only one to experience this ? Did I miss some new options to be turned off ?
