Hello everyone.
I am a Java developer and have created a Java application (using Eclipse
RCP) and have exported that using Eclipse tools. My exported application
has a structure that conforms to Mac, namely I have something like:
ParentDirectory/
MyApp.app/
configuration/
plugins/
and double-clicking on MyApp runs my application without any issue. I
want to "package" this for others and include a license and such. I am
trying to use the PackageBuilder which seems to be the tool for this
task and I have tried to follow the instructions but I am running into
this issue: after I create the package, when I install it, it doesn't
create the MyApp.app directory, it only creates the other two
directories. I am sue I am missing a simple setting somewhere since once
I was able to successfully create the correct installer but since then,
it has been failing.
What I do in order to create the installer/package is to drag-and-drop
the ParentDirectory (see above) into the PackageBuilder and then filling
the appropriate fields. I want regular users (with no admin privileges)
be able ti install this app in their home directory, no need to install
in the system dirs. The UI part of the PackageBuilder works nicely.
If you need more specific information, please do let me know so I can
provide the correct info to get help.
Many thanks,
Ali.
