Applying number formatter to table view column - newbie question?

  • Subject: Applying number formatter to table view column - newbie question?

I am learning Cocoa and IB and am going through sample code. I want to apply an NSNumberFormatter to a TableView column. I create the TableView in IB with 2 columns, double click on the 2nd column and I see it is selected in the attributes inspector. Then I go to Library window and select Views&Cells/Formatters. I click on NumberFormatter and drag to the column I want formatted. When I drag enter the Window where the table view is the whole table view unselects and it won't let me drop the formatter on the column of the table view. Huh? What am I missing here? It will let drop on the first cell and Hillebrand says you have to drop on column and not the cell. BTW, this is on 10.5.6.

Thanks,
Sandip Goyal
