Your solution works also, I think. Actually I'm not sure if it's working now because I restarted my Mac. I'll try your idea again if the odd behavior crops up again.

Yes, I was seeing code before, but had to click the files in the detail view above the editor to make them show up in the editor.

Are you sure you have a text editing area being displayed? You can split the main view, to display the contents of a folder, and the code for a particular file. For me, this happens automatically. Sounds a bit like you are just getting the folder listing. Certainly when I click on a file in the Groups and Files area, the code for that file is displayed on the RHS. Try clicking on the little icon that looks like a window layout, to the right of the information icon in the toolbar. Otherwise, are you seeing any code at all in the main view (without double clicking on a file?).

Ian.

Hi Xcode users,

When I click on a filename in the Groups & Files section, Xcode displays that filename in the area above the text editing area. I was hoping it would open the file I clicked, in the text editing area. If I double click the file, a new window appears, which is also not what I want. TextMate gets it right, so for now I'm bouncing back and forth between TextMate and Xcode. I just don't see why Xcode does such silly things in response to filename clicks. Is there some way to change this?

Thanks,
Issac
