Can't set breakpoint in library

  • Subject: Can't set breakpoint in library

I built a static libLua. I want to know if routines in it are being called, so I tried

(gdb) b luaL_unref
Breakpoint 7 at 0x2faebe: file bits/basic_string.h, line 472.

basic_string.h is not a Lua source file. Nor does it actually stop when luaL_unref is called. And when I try to step into it, it shows the wrong source (apparently basic_string.h).

How can I let Xcode/GDB know about my library source? (I haven't tried dragging in the Xcode project for libLua.)
