gcc is treating b.txt as an object file. Give the file the right
extension
(.c, most likely) and all should be well. What is in the file?
I think Chris Espinosa actually already asked a sensible, pertinent
question that would help answer the OP's question. Unfortunately
there has been no reply and this thread appears to have been hijacked
by other people who have an unrelated issue that triggers a similar
message.
The issue here is specifically that the OP is expecting the compiler
to do *something* with a text file, which probably means---at least---
not treating it as an object.
That *isn't* the same issue as the other "not of required
architecture" problems, which is why I say the thread has been hijacked.
