Where did the single file Find options go? They used to be nicely placed in the very useful Find window. Now that's gone, replaced by the goofy find banner thing. The 3.2 enhancements doc says "Options for the Find are available in the magnifying-glass pulldown in the search bubble." Bwah? What's a magnifying-glass pulldown? (And did they mean *popup*? Way too many people incorrectly calling popups "pulldowns" these days.) And what's a search bubble?

It really is a pull-down list, not a popup button:

I don't suppose there's a hidden pref that lets me get the old Find window back? I miss it. The find banner didn't help anything, but made it more difficult to figure out and use, and it steals focus from the text editor, which always isn't obvious unless you look up there. I don't know why Apple replaced a perfectly good and useful feature with something completely non-standard and weird. Having find banners showing in all my windows wastes as much space as having a menubar at the top of every window. Yuck. El grosso. Give me a Find window please. Plus, you have to take an extra step to get the Replace field if you didn't already figure that out and change your key bindings.

Don't tell *us*, tell Apple -- put your complaint into the form of a bug report, where it will actually get noticed.

Better still, *don't* submit a bug report. Personally, I'm happy enough with the new Find bar, so I'd be a little disappointed if it got changed back again.
