Hello all,

We recently switched to using DWARF with dSYM file instead of just DWARF. We do this only for build server builds because it takes an absurdly long time to make the .dSYM's.

A few of our targets need to build apps in particular locations and we accomplish that with the "Deployment Location" and "Installation Directory" build settings.

The app shows up in the correct location, but the dSYM file does not. The dSYM files are showing up in the build products path, instead of the installation directory, next to the app.

Is there any way to get the .dSYMs to build in the correct locations? Or, is my only option to move them after the fact in a script?

thanks

Hi John.

Yes, you should be able to set the locations using the environment variable DWARF_DSYM_FOLDER_PATH. Unfortunately, I don't believe that this is documented, except in my blog post:
