Since I updated to Snow Leopard (and Xcode 3.2), I can no longer do
distributed builds. I found the troubleshooting tips in the release
notes (which seem a bit obsolete, since they refer to DNB), and
nothing seems out of line. Also, things almost work -- Xcode
successfully contacts one machine running Leopard and shows it. The
others are all "Unreachable" despite being pingable.
This is a problem on both machines I've updated. (One shows two
Incompatible machines instead of one.) I've rebooted. After one, I
was asked about distccd and the firewall (I said yes).
One odd thing is that on my machine "aluminium," it shows up in its
own list. My other machine doesn't show itself.
Also, the list doesn't seem to refresh, I rebooted a machine into
Boot Camp and that machine still shows up there.
Sadly, my reply won't help, but I thought you would like to know that
I have experienced the same problem.
I filed a bug on this ( rdar://7000460 ) and it came back as a
duplicate of rdar://6149269
I would suggest filing your own bug report as that should help get it
fixed faster.
I'd love to be able to do distributed builds with parallel target
building.
