I had filed a bug ( rdar://6555546 ) requesting some control over
this
string that appears when running an application not supported on the
current OS.
It has come back as fixed, but the bug doesn't mention what was done
to fix it, so I am not sure how to properly test (as I was requested
to do) what was done.
I hate that message. :) It doesn't even tell what which version _is_
required. Hopefully it's better in 10.6. Try setting your min
requirement to 10.6.9 and see what message it gives.
Good idea. I tried 10.7 and it just crashes.
Setting it to 10.6.9 provides:
You can't use this version of the application XXX with this version of
Mac OS X.
You have Mac OS X 10.6. The application requires Mac OS X 10.6.9 or
later.
There are two buttons...one for Software Update... and an OK button.
