Projects which built fine for eons (seems like it) distributing
compiles nicely off to multi-core MacProc's now have apparently
random distcc compile modules fail. GCC 4.0 reporting wacky
errors (eg, doesn't like _any_ #pragmas) and finally seg
faulting. GCC 4.2 (thought I'd try it) simply faults. Crash
dumps show the same basic stack (crashing in a strlen in vsnprintf....whoops).
At first I thought it was just the ppc compiles that failed, but
randomly just a few x86 compiles will fail.
Turning off distributed builds, everything builds fine and dandy.
One thing I should amend the bug report to note is that (though
_hard_ to find due to all of the noise now appearing in the
console log) I find many of these:
distccd[21922]: (dcc_readx) ERROR: unexpected eof on fd208
which sometimes but not always precede the crashes.
