My point was that either approach (tabs or no tabs) is bad if you abuse it.
So with Xcode you have choice of using it as intended, or not - at the end it is only a matter of getting used to it.
At first I thought also that tabless thing was insane and illogical, but I don't miss it anymore. On the other hand, when I switch to tab based IDE (another platform) I don't complain either. Both of them do the job. To be honest, I was doing C and C++ development in last 10 years by using only console editor (joe) and auto tools, and had hard time convincing myself to make next move and switch to graphical interface.
