If you search the archives, you will find that both of these (published Xcode API and GIT/Mercurial/* support) are Frequently Asked Questions.

If you file a Radar bug, you will find it duplicated, along with many others, to original requests for these.

We've had a lot on our plate the past few years, what with Intel and iPhone and iPad and five releases of Mac OS X, but we are well aware that these are important to developers.
