Hi Christiaan,

Thank you for your quick response. I have done some testing to try and work out what's going on. I have a mac mini and a macbook pro, both set up with XCode. I created a new project on the mini and added a new file. The path type was set to "Relative to XCode folder" by default. On the macbook however, when I do the same, it defaults to "Relative to Enclosing Group". Moving a project across from the mini to the macbook doesn't work since I store my projects within the Developer folder on one and within my Documents folder on the other - the 'XCode folder' is therefore different.

I therefore think that I have somehow managed to change the default. Has anyone ever come across this problem before?

Many thanks,

Dan

I find that when I create new files in a project, it defaults to "Relative to Enclosing Group". When I add an existing file, it defaults to "Relative to Enclosing Group" when inside the project folder, and to "Relative to Project" when outside the project folder, though I can easily choose a different reference with the popup I get automatically when adding the file. I'm pretty sure you cannot change the default behavior. BTW, files in a project should always be in the file structure of the project folder, and when you copy a project you copy the whole project folder, so any relative reference that's properly set (no matter where it's relative to) would remain valid. Therefore if you get problems when transferring to another computer the fault is with the way YOU set up the project, the problem is not because of this default behavior (which always does the right thing in this respect).

Christiaan
