How do you add files that Xcode won't let you navigate to?

Hi all.

More infuriating interaction with the Mac OS's file-browsing GUI. I'm
trying to set up a project to build Boost libs I need, but I want to
use the files from the installation location:
/usr/local/include/boost, for consistency in the future.

But apparently that location is too scary for developers, because
Xcode's file-choosing dialog won't let you go there. Do I have to
hand-edit the Xcode project file, or is there some other workaround
for this?

Thanks!
