ASL logging output with facilities in Debugger Console

  • Subject: ASL logging output with facilities in Debugger Console

Dear all,

I'm currently looking into ASL logging for iOS applications. During
the development I want to toggle between
the log output of different libraries; so I used the facility to
accomplish that behavior with Console.app.
This works as advertised if I debug inside the Simulator. If I try to
debug on a device nothing is logged to
the syslog server and so Console.app doesn't display the log messages.

I've used the client handle ASL_OPT_STDERR to log into the Xcode
Debugger Console. But the Debugger
Console doesn't display -or filters- facilities.

Is it possible to display and filter ASL facilities in the Debugger
Console or is there another way to
accomplish that?

Thanks in advance,
Marc
