Julian,
Could you also turn on your debugger log? The log file will contain the location that gdb tells Xcode to open the source code, or why the disassembly view is shown instead of source code.
To enable debugger log, just go to the Preferences window, Debug pane and check to log and save to a location like '/tmp/gdb.log'. It will get overwritten for every debug session.
File a bug (or send it to me for quick analysis, if you want).
