I rightclick on a group "Images" which has a like folder named images in the file directory and choose "Existing files" and add some image files. I check the checkbox at the top. The files add, and are copied to the directory, but they're copied to the project directory, and not to the "images" directory. How can I add files that will maintain the directory grouping in the file level as well as in the project.

Use the info panel to set the directory for the Images group to the corresponding directory.

Alternatively, you can put the files in the right place first and then add them to the project, unchecking "copy files".
