MPI debugging with XCode

  • Subject: MPI debugging with XCode

Hi,

I found some refs to openmpi in this list and managed to both build mpi programs from external makefiles or using the build configuration tip via the Dave Reed post to build natively within xcode using CC = /usr/bin/mpic++.

Now how can I debug such a program?  I've added a custom executable that points to /usr/bin/mpirun and set the arguments as the path to my mpi-based executable.  This will launch it.  But I'm not sure how to get the debugger to attach to my program once it is launch via mpirun, so I can use breakpoints etc...

Any tips appreciated.

thanks,
thomas
