Consider the following, from a header file generated from my MOM, for entity "Pattern:"
====
@interface Pattern : NSManagedObject
{
}
@property (nonatomic, retain) NSNumber * patternID;
@property (nonatomic, retain) NSNumber * length;
@property (nonatomic, retain) NSSet* waypoints;
@property (nonatomic, retain) NSSet* vehicles;
@property (nonatomic, retain) Route * route;
@end
====
This turns out not to compile, because "Pattern" is the name of a struct defined in QuickdrawTypes.h (odd that it's in the include path for my project, but...). Okay, so I want a new, distinctive name, like "RoutePattern." I double-click Pattern to select it, and then Edit > Refactor... . It offers to rename Pattern. After I wait a few seconds (it doesn't matter whether I type anything), an alert sheet drops in:
The selection does not contain identifiable content. - Make a different selection and try again.
Clicking the OK button dismisses the refactoring window.
Quitting Xcode, then reopening the project, doesn't help. Rebuilding the Code Sense index doesn't help. Doing a complete clean doesn't help.
How can I make this work? Surely moving a project symbol out from under a system symbol is a common refactoring task.
