Developing for 10.4 and up

  • Subject: Developing for 10.4 and up

I am running Snow Leopard and Xcode 3.2. I must develop a small app that runs on OS X 10.4, 10.5 and 10.6.

I have read Apple's SDK Compatibility Guide. Based on my understanding of that document, I set the project build options to:  base SDK as 10.6, Mac OS X Deployment Target 10.4.

What I don't understand is this warning message when I build:

<built-in>:0:0 <built-in>:0: warning: Mac OS X version 10.5 or later is needed for use of the new objc abi

The weird thing is that I to my recollection I did not get that message the first time I built the project. It only came up after I tinkered with a class or two. However, after the tinkering I set things back as they had been.

What does that mean? Will it run on 10.4 or not?

TIA.

Best,

- Dave -
