Hi,

Forgive me if this has been mentioned already; I've been away from
this list and Xcode for a year. But...

Xcode crashes every time I try to view the "Getting started with
Xcode" documentation. This is on a virgin, vanilla setup: Snow Leopard
10.6.2 + all OS updates + Xcode 3.2.1/iPhone SDK 3.1.2 install from
the downloaded dmg. Please let me know of any workarounds.  (I must
say that this isn't exactly the "welcome back" I was hoping to get
from Xcode.) Thanks.




Here are the steps to reproduce, all the way from a bare metal
install. They're 100% reproducible:


1. Boot off Snow Leopard DVD

2. Run Disk Utility; Erase the drive

3. Install Snow Leopard

4. Run System Update; Reboot; Repeat until all updates are applied

5. Reboot again for good measure

6. Install Xcode 3.2.1 + iPhone SDK 3.1.2 from the downloaded dmg

7. Reboot for good measure

8. Launch Xcode; Go to Preferences>Documentation

9. In the Documentation Sets section, click the "Check and Install Now" button

10. Wait several hours while these 3 documentation sets are downloaded:

+ iPhone OS 3.1 Library
+ Mac OS X 10.6 Core Library
+ Xcode 3.2 Developer Tools Library


11. Downloads may stop before completing. Click the "Check and Install
Now" button as many times as necessary to get all docs. Look for the
message "No updates available"; receiving this message means the docs
have downloaded completely.


12. Quit Xcode

13. Relaunch Xcode

14. On the "Welcome to Xcode" screen, click "Getting started with Xcode"

15. On the "Xcode Quick Start" screen that appears, in the "Start
Developing with Xcode" section, click the disclosure button "Read
More"

16. Xcode will crash with the following:
