The proper procedure in that case would have been to try the lists one at time.  I'm replying here since this is probably more of an Xcode issue.

That's weird.  I've had trouble unless my strings files are UTF-16.

Again, I've found just the opposite, that although Xcode documentation says to use the ISO codes, in fact there are some minor issues and you really need to use the long names.
