That doesn't compile either. However, thanks to advice received off-list
I've settled on including the @"..." wrapper as part of the value passed in
from the build system in the first place - not as elegant as what I was
hoping for, but perhaps my notion of elegance is misplaced here, and in any
case it's working. Thanks as always - m.
