I'm definitely leaning towards this, and in fact am well down the road. I've
now got the two phases expressed as two (application) targets which share a
lot of the same code and some of the same resources, so at the moment I'm
(manually) building and running the first target, then building and running
the second target, and it's working great. So all that remains is to join
the targets with a dependency and a script phase. Thanks to all for the
suggestions. m.
