I've had similar problems (usually with a view not a window) where the
size is locked and there's nothing I can do to unlock it, never figured
out why either.
The only way around this I have ever found is to drag out another one of
whatever it is that has uneditable size, drop it onto IB somewhere in
the hierarchy similar to where the uneditable one is, then drag all the
sub-elements onto it. I usually find the new one I drag out can be resized.
That's all that's ever worked for me. Failing that I'd probably head
into the xib and start messing about by hand.

I asked this once before and got no response. Can I be alone with this problem?
I asked Xcode to upgrade my iPhone project to also be an iPad project. Somehow it gave me a MainWindow~iPad.xib file with the window still set to 320x480. The window contains an EAGLView, and I can change that to 768x1024, but IB will not allow me to edit the window size. How can I get around this?
thanks,
David
