Comrades,
Okay, after looking more carefully at previous posts, I realize that the problem I am having with the debugger in 3.2.3 (no variables visible) is similar to a known issue (GDB Issues bad access message when looking at variables in 3.2.3). I have not seen any workarounds mentioned, just that Tony Romano filed a bug 8128556.
Just for completeness, I have tried quitting Xcode, restarting my Mac, cleaning the project, cleaning plus deleting all but the project.pbxproj files, changing from DWARF+dSYM to plain DWARF, deleting all breakpoints, &etc, as well as various combinations of these efforts. No dice.
Just realized something else weird. I am stopped at a breakpoint, and the debugger shows just globals and registers, no locals, no arguments. But if I go back down the callstack to some of my other code, the variables view again shows arguments, self, and locals, along with the globals and registers.
So, I am really pretty much up the creek here. I wonder if I might be better off trying Xcode 4? I know its a beta, but can it be any worse than a pretty much brain dead debugger? Or maybe I should roll back to 3.2.1 or 3.2.2? Those downloads don't seem to include the iPhone SDK, which I need.
Regards,
Paul
