Executables representing target products

Somehow I got an executable in my project that I can't delete. Xcode
tells me "executables representing target products cannot be deleted".
Now I don't really want to delete the executable, just want to add
another one with different arguments.
For some reason all the other executables that I add (or duplicate for
the first) don't work with breakpoints. All the breakpoints get
ignored. I'm confused I've never seen this. The first executable path
can't be edited either, but if I duplicate it, I can.
What's the reason why the other executables are different and their
breakpoints are being ignored? I'm using version 3.2.2
