I am sorry for the confusion. To clarify, let me reiterate what I did,
without confusing it with what I "thought" I did.

What I did was highlight the Project icon in the "Groups and Files"
pane. I then clicked the info button. I clicked the build tab. I reset
the option "Other C Flags" back to empty. I then selected the option
from the menu "Clean all targets". Finally, I initiated another build.
I expected to see that the -Wp,v flag that I had put in the "Other C
Flags" option would be cleared. It was not. After I poked around, I
realized that if I displayed the info on the Target by selecting the
Target (I am assuming this is what you are referring to when you say
"build products") in the "Groups and Files" pane and then selecting
info, I got a different set of build settings than I specified when I
had selected the Project Icon. In fact, the build settings reflected
the values that I had put in the Project's build settings during
earlier iterations.

Forgive me for expecting the "Clean all targets" would also clear the
build settings. Because I changed the build settings for the Project
and they did not propagate to the Target, I made a jump in thinking
that there was a mechanism to re-sync the build settings of the
Project and the Target. By your correction/confusion, I would assume
that my assumption that "Clean all targets" was that mechanism was a
bad one. :-)

All that said, do you know why there would be a disconnect between the
build settings of the Project and the build settings of the Target? I
am quite confident that this was occurring and do not have an
explanation. This is not the intent of the original post, but it is
quite confusing behavior.

Thanks,

Will
