Question about starting my application from an installer postflight script

  • Subject: Question about starting my application from an installer postflight script

Hi. I am working on a method to update an application and re-launch it.

What I would like to do is to have my app run an install package (using the security framework to run the installer as an admin). Then in my postflight script, I'd like to run my application, and then have the first instance exit.

The problem I am having is that something is different in the way it runs when I try to launch my app from the postflight script.

Is there something I can do to make it run in the same manner as if I had double clicked from the finder? I have tried launching intermediate things such as apple scripts that would delay, then launch my app, etc.

Thanks for any advice.

Brant Sears
