I'm agnostic on the issue. I develop my code on multiple machines with different environments, and I like to keep some things separate and customized for each machine. The simplest example is window layout, which I want remembered one way on my workstation with multiple large monitors and another way on my MacBook. And if I lose this information, its not a big deal.

On the other hand, having somethings like command-line arguments, which even if customized per environment, does strike me as something more important and that I would want backed up.

Todd
