When you search for a document in the documentation window, then do a find for a different string in the document, then step through the matches, the find string will periodically revert to the document-find terms.
TO REPRODUCE
Open the documentation window and enter the search term "SMB fork". (Call this the document-find string.)
Adjust the type of search as follows: Exact; Mac OS X 10.6 Core Library only; Java Objective-C C.
"File Manager Reference" appears. Click it. The document appears.
Do a find-in-file (cmd-F). The search field (call its contents the search string) contains the document-find string. Enter the search string "fork" instead.
100 results are reported. Click the forward button to cycle through them.
EXPECTED
The forward and back buttons cycle among occurrences of the string "fork".
ACTUAL
After several iterations (or perhaps after half a minute or so), the search string is replaced by the document-find string. Zero results are reported, and cycling is no longer possible. The search string must be re-entered. The problem repeats.
NOTES
Mac OS X 10.6 Core Library, version 404.1
