What kind of "build commands" are you referring to here? Are you invoking an external build system (make?), or are you using the Xcode build system? Version of Xcode and Mac OS X?

In any case, please grab CPU samples of your xcodebuild and Xcode runs and attach them to a new radar to allow us to take a look:
